Amounts of negative savings rate reduced again

At the beginning of 2021, we wrote an article about more and more Dutch banks applying a negative savings interest rate. At that time, we talked about a negative savings interest rate for savings balances of €250,000 and above at Rabobank. Negative savings interest means paying to deposit savings with them. Now, a few months later, Rabobank announces it will lower the amounts to €100,000 starting July 1. Earlier, ING Bank, ABN Amro and Volksbank also announced that the amounts were going down.

Rabobank will start charging interest above a ton of savings
Rabobank customers with more than €100,000 in their accounts will have to face it from July 1: they will then start paying interest to the bank, instead of receiving it. Interest of 0.5% will be charged on savings above a ton. Until now, customers were only charged negative interest if their savings exceeded €250,000.

Other banks preceded
Rabobank is not the only bank to cut interest rates substantially. ING recently did the same for customers with more than a ton of savings. At ABN Amro, the limit for negative interest rates as of July 1 is €150,000. At Volksbank, too, customers will start paying negative interest rates of 0.5% on savings above a ton from July 1. If you pay negative savings interest on your savings it may be interesting to look for alternatives for your savings. We would like to inform you about the possibilities and advantages of investing in a vacation home in the Netherlands.

Investing in a growing market
Due to the growing popularity of vacations in your own country, the purchase of a vacation home is an interesting investment. Many Dutch people have rediscovered our country in the past year and experienced how much the Netherlands has to offer. It is therefore expected that more and more Dutch people will book a (short) vacation in their own country in the coming years. In addition, international tourists are also expected to visit our beautiful country again. This will ensure a further increase in occupancy at vacation parks in the Netherlands. This is the time to invest in a vacation home.
