Over 70 percent of residents from the Netherlands and our country's core tourist markets of Belgium, Germany, France, the United Kingdom, the United States and China have vacation plans this year. This is according to NBTC's Holiday Monitor 2021.
The results from the Holiday Monitor show that more potential holidaymakers prefer to go on vacation in their own country. This is especially true for residents from the Netherlands (+11 percent). These results apply not only to the summer, but also to vacation plans during the rest of the year. "In the Netherlands, we see that people are primarily looking for peace and quiet and space in their own country. Vacation parks and campsites in nature are therefore becoming attractive. Many Dutch people have rediscovered our country in the past year and experienced how much the Netherlands has to offer.
